Thermally Driven Heat Pumps are a Much Better Option

Great paper by Thomas Manjarres and Allen Dusault of Franklin Energy highlighting the important difference between site energy efficiency and actual carbon emission reduction.  Specifically, this paper shows that replacing gas space heating equipment with electric heat pumps in cool climate zones will actually increase carbon emissions, in addition to increasing the home owner’s utility cost.  The paper also clearly shows that SMTI’s Thermally Driven Heat Pumps are a much better option, as they actually do decrease carbon emissions while decreasing the home owner’s utility cost.
