Stone Mountain Technologies factory in Tennessee where Anesi gas heat pumps are designed and manufactured

About Stone Mountain Technologies and Gas Absorption Heat Pumps

Located just outside Johnson City, Tennessee, Stone Mountain Technologies (SMTI) is leading a quiet revolution in the HVAC industry. For over 15 years, we’ve been developing and refining energy-efficient gas absorption heating technology that leverages ammonia-water absorption cycles to deliver unmatched performance in cold climates.

Our flagship brand, Anesi, offers a new class of heating products with up to 140% AFUE efficiency, making it a viable replacement for gas furnaces and electric heat pumps. These gas absorption heat pump systems provide both space heating and hot water, enabling customers to reduce their fuel consumption and environmental impact.

In 2023, SMTI expanded into a 160,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Piney Flats, Tennessee. This space houses our growing team of engineers, technical support staff, and production specialists. With the capacity to build up to 75,000 heat pumps annually, we’re scaling to meet the rising demand for sustainable heating solutions.

Our first commercial product is an 80,000-Btu gas absorption heat pump, designed for residential and light commercial applications. Built for cold climates, it delivers consistent comfort while dramatically reducing energy use. Future models will expand our offerings to larger buildings and more diverse applications.

Heating is one of the most significant contributors to energy use in both residential and commercial settings. By switching to ultra-efficient heating technology, customers can reduce their emissions without sacrificing comfort or reliability. SMTI is proud to be at the forefront of this transformation.
