In March 2019, two of SMTI’s 80,000 BTU/hr Gas Absorption Heat Pump prototypes were commissioned at restaurants in Southern California as demonstration projects. They will provide both DHW heating and supplemental cooling to the full-service restaurants, cutting hot-water heating bills by up to 50%, plus the additional free-cooling benefit.
